suicide awareness

This post is not really about posting my love to someone, but it is about loving someone, and how many people actually love you, even if you don't know it.

A few years ago, my mom's cousin's wife committed suicide by jumping off Taughanock Falls in New York, right down the road from their home and where my grandparents live. The falls was always a special place to my family and now it's hard to go there without thinking, "How did Lisa jump that?" or "Why would she do that" or just even thinking about her. Since then, I have always been part of suicide awareness groups on facebook and other websites.

Today, I just heard about how two young girls (sophomores Gina, 16 and Vanessa, 15 (Vanessa's 16th birthday is Wednesday the 3rd of March)) in Prospect Park, PA who committed suicide because Gina's boyfriend, Billy, died by getting hit by a car on his bike the month before. I'm from the area, and I know the area where the girls are from and the school, Interboro High School, where they went to. (My cousin actually just graduated from the school.) The two girls made a 'suicide pact' with some other friends, but when they decided to do it, only 3 went. The three girls went to the train tracks right near their school (where they were supposed to be) and stepped out onto the tracks, while the third chickened out and yelled out to them to not go through with it. The third girl watched as the two girls hugged and were hit by the train.

After hearing this story, I am even more involved with these suicide awareness groups. I want to do everything I can to help. I just want to say that no matter how bad your life may seem at the time, it's never bad enough to take your life. There are people who care about you, more than you would believe, and you have no idea how many people it will impact. There are people who love you and will be so hurt and feel destroyed by you taking your life. So if you are going to do it, think twice.. Talk to someone, just don't do it..

"Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem."

love.love.love. - Post the Love

so i was inspired by Channing Tatum's webstie Post the Love, so i've decided to write my own, even though i'm not posting my love to someone in particular.

check out the website: http://www.postthelove.com/ or on twitter: http://twitter.com/postthelove and facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Post-the-Love/303072305094

Love is an indescribable word. People take it differently, think they no when they are in love at different times. It can happen with different people and in different ways. It can happen in a short period of time, or in a long period of time. It can be easy to say, or hard to say. It can be to someone of a different race or religious background. But in the end, it is always the same feeling no matter how you look or where you come from; love. You can love your family, your friends, someone you look up to; but then you can be in love with someone.. someone special that you want to be with the rest of your life. The one you want to tell everything to and never be away from. The one you want to do everything with and you would die to be with them forever, to save their life if you got the chance. You can love in different ways, and usually love brings happiness and an amazing feeling, but love can bring hatred, betrayal, and fear.

Personally, I have never been in love. I have no idea what it feels like to be in love with someone. So it may be odd for me to have said those things about love. But I have observed love, from movies, television, personal experiences with family and friends. I have seen what love can do to people, and love should be a feeling of joy and happiness, not fear. A person should never abuse their wife or husband, cheat on them, hurt them, take advantage of them; or worst of all, kill them. Love should be the most poweful thing in the world in a positive way, not negative. When you're in love with someone, you should want to be with them, want to take care of them, make them feel special and wanted and loved, you should make them feel safe.

You should let them know you love them because you never know how long you have before that person is gone. Don't be afraid to tell the one you love how much they mean to you, how much you love them. Live your life to the fullest and be with that person. Take risks and enjoy your life together, before it goes away. Let them know how much you love them.. You should Post the Love..

amanda's love song :)

In my favorite singers section in my 'about me', I included Amanda Seyfried. She's one of my favorite actors and singers, and she has an amazing voice. I first heard her sing in Mamma Mia, and since then I have been listening to the soundtrack a lot. She also just had a song called 'Little House' on the Dear John soundtrack. She's really talented, and I love listening to her sing with her guitar. The other day, I found this video posted by Channing Tatum on his youtube 'Post the Love' of Amanda playing guitar and singing one of her own original songs. I thought I'd post it here, so you can check it out. It's really worth checking out, she's really talented and I hope one day she has her own cd.

Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7HsdOBemTU

And here's lyrics for her song 'Little House' (listen to the song here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Im_ZVNX1QZM) from the Dear John soundtrack:

I love this place
But it's haunted without you
My tired heart
Is beating so slow
Our hearts sing less
Than we wanted
We wanted
Our hearts sing 'cause
We do not know
we do not know

To light the night
To help us grow
To help us grow
It is not said
I always know

You can catch me
Don't you run
Don't you run
If you live another day
In this happy little house
The fire's here to stay

To light the night
To help us grow
To help us grow
It is not said
I always know

Please don't make a fuss
It won't go away
The wonder of it all
The wonder that I made
I am here to stay

I am here to stay

Stay

quotes :)

here's some of my favorite quotes from 'the time traveler's wife' by audrey niffenengger.

"Love the world and yourself in it, move through it as though it offers no resistance, as though the world is your natural element."

"But do you think that it's better to be extremely happy for a short while, even if you lose it, than to be just okay for your whole life?"

"Maybe I'm dreaming you. Maybe you're dreaming me; maybe we only exist in each other's dreams and every morning when we wake up we forget all about each other."

"Chaos is more freedom; in fact, total freedom. But no meaning. I want to be free to act, and I also want my actions to mean something."

"Right now we are here, and nothing can mar our perfection, or steal the joy of this perfect moment."

"Time is priceless, but it’s Free. You can't own it, you can use it. You can spend it. But you can't keep it. Once you've lost it you can never get it back."

"That’s the thing about living vicariously; it’s so much faster than actual living. In a few minutes we’ll be worrying about names for the children."

"Her spirit flew out into the night. And the sky reached down, and drew her up, and she was filled with light... And she is happy."
